I am a record producer/recording-mixing-mastering engineer based in Manchester, England. With over 20 years experience specialising in rock and metal production; I have written numerous heavy-music production articles for leading magazines including Sound on Sound and Guitar World; and am the author of ‘Metal Music Manual’, the world’s first book on Producing, Engineering, Mixing and Mastering Contemporary Metal Music.

The analogue domain is completed by a wide array of quality microphones/mic-pres and outboard gear (including Neumann, Audio Technica, Sennheiser, Neve, API, GML, Dangerous Music & Empirical Labs). The digital side of the equation is handled by state-of-the-art A/D D/A conversion, alongside Pro Tools Ultimate featuring a full suite of high-spec plug-ins (Universal Audio, Waves, SSL, Neve, Slate Digital etc.) - and the studio’s quality Amphion, NS10, and Auratone monitoring and neutral, non-fatiguing acoustic environment ensure that all mixes/final masters translate well regardless of playback system and environment.
